Technology would like to take this opportunity to introduce a new
service for students called the "Tech Buddy" Program. A
“Tech Buddy” is a student who possesses the skills necessary to
respond to student questions related to basic technology/computer skills
needed to complete computer driven class assignments. For example, a
“Tech Buddy” will be able to answer questions on how to:
· Log in to the campus computer network
· Navigate through the Blackboard Course
Management System
· Use a mouse
· Locate and open a document or program on the
computer
· Save, copy, move, rename, print, and delete a
document on the computer
· Send and receive E-mail
· Attach documents to be sent by E-mail
· Conduct searches using the Internet
· Import a graphic into a document
· Scan an image
· Install software from the Internet such as
Acrobat Reader, QuickTime, Flash Player, or Media Player
· Zip and unzip files
· Run an executable file from a CD-ROM
Beginning today, there will be a "Tech Buddy" student
available to respond to basic technology/computer related questions. The
"Tech Buddy" student will be located in the Student Center
Pavilion, Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and can also be reached
via e-mail at Techbuddyhfcc@yahoo.com
