This page attempts to list the active web sites of many diverse biology organizations. Biology, basically, is a science that uses all other fields studied in college. It's principles are explained by knowing physics, chemistry, earth science, psychology, sociology, statistics, art, et cetera. Think about this. It is the only field in college that requires basic knowledge of and exposure to these fields. The basics you need to know will depend, of course, on the discipline of biology you study. Environmental science for example requires knowledge in soil science, weather (meteorology), sociology, political science and statistics. This is but one example for any field of biology. Overall, Biology draws on the knowlege bases of other less concept based courses and then builds a more complex, that is, higher level of thinking and understandings. It is truly at the top of the learning pyramid in college. Thus, as you study other courses in college remember that what you are learning there will apply to biology but it may not seem like it at the time. Eventually these non-biology courses will fit into your knowledge base as you try to understand Biology and all that it encompasses.
