The Associate in Science Degree requires at least 24 credit hours of mathematics and science, including at least two laboratory science courses. Credit earned must be from courses numbered 100 or above.

In addition, the Associate in Science Degree requires at least six hours of credit earned from each of the following two areas: Humanities and Social Science, as listed below. Credit earned must be from courses numbered 100 or above.

• HUMANITIES: Art, Dance, Drama, English (except 131, 132, and 135), Foreign Language, Journalism, Mass Communications, Music, Philosophy, Science in Western Culture, Speech, Theater, World Religion.
• SOCIAL SCIENCE: Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Social Science, Sociology. NOTE: Political Science 131 and Social Science 131, which are courses cited in the General College Requirements, may also be used to fulfill these Social Science requirements.

A student earning an Associate in Science Degree should consult with an advisor to carefully plan a curriculum. Note that the MACRAO agreement requires at least eight hours in Humanities and at least eight hours in Social Science.
